It has in-built protection against over/under voltages. One can also choose to switch the power source from Computer USB to External Power through the Adapter Supplied with the unit. The unit can be mounted on multiple surfaces using the supplied mounting gear, thanks to the inbuilt wire extender, gives upto 3 meters of extra length of existing cables without any signal loss.
